Member #48737, initiated in 1982 at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Reed was appointed National Marshal at the 2004 National Conclave. He graduated with a BS in mechanical engineering at the University of Arkansas in 1971. He received an MS in 1973 and a PhD in 1976, both from the University of Arkansas. He is presently professor and head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Tennessee. He joined the faculty of the University of Tennessee as Assistant Professor in 1976.

Dr. Reed has conducted extensive research in the field of environmental engineering, and has published more than 50 reports and publications presenting the research findings. He is a member of ASCE, ASEE, AWWA, NSPE, and the Water Environment Federation. Also, he has served the university in numerous capacities, including serving as Faculty Advisor for the Chi Epsilon chapter since 1985.
