Professor Henry P. Dobbelaar Jr
Metropolitan District Councillor
Member #88431, initiated in 2000 at Stevens
Institute of Technology (Chapter 125, installed in 2000). Dr. Dobbelaar
currently serves as Founding Faculty Advisor for the Stevens Chapter of
Chi Epsilon. He was elected as the Metropolitan District Councillor in
March 2004 at the Purdue Conclave. He currently serves as Vice President
of Facilities/Support Services, is the Founding Director of the Graduate
Construction Management Program and is a Distinguished Service Professor
in the Civil, Environmental, and Ocean Engineering Department. Fellow in
both ASCE and NSPE, he is the Northeast Regional Vice-Chair for the
Professional Engineers in Construction Practice Division of NSPE, is a
Past President of NJSPE, and is a member of the Gear and Triangle Society
(Stevens 2003). Dobbelaar joined the faculty at Stevens in 1994. He
received a BS and an MS, both in civil engineering, from Newark College of
Engineering in 1966 and 1968, respectively. In practice, Dobbelaar was a
principle in two major heavy construction firms until he joined Stevens in
1994. He specializes in construction management and construction
engineering.
